Good to know

📅 This is a full-day, one-rider-per-quad experience — the perfect formula for those who want complete control of their machine from start to finish. The venue changes with the season: Montaleix in summer and Super Besse ski resort in winter, both set in the volcanic heart of the Puy-de-Dôme. 🪖 Your quad and helmet are provided and CEN-certified. On your end, come prepared with long trousers or jeans (shorts are strictly forbidden), long sleeves, a windproof jacket, ankle-protecting boots, and glasses. 🚗 A valid driving licence is required for all riders. The minimum age is 8 years old. A security deposit cheque will be required on the day. Transport to the activity site is not included in the price, so plan your own way there. ⚠️ For specific timing or weather-related questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Takamaka team before your visit.

How the activity works

1

🤝 Welcome and safety briefing

Your instructor greets you on arrival and walks you through the key safety rules for quad riding in the Puy-de-Dôme. Helmet fitting, machine introduction, Q&A — you'll leave the briefing feeling calm, prepared, and ready to roll.
2

🎮 Getting comfortable with the quad

Before heading out onto the trails, you ease into things with a supervised warm-up. Throttle control, braking, cornering — your instructor takes you through it all, adapting to your pace so that even complete beginners feel at home behind the handlebars in no time.
3

🌋 Quad ride through volcanic nature

This is what you came for. Out on the Montaleix tracks or the Super Besse terrain, with the Massif du Sancy stretching out around you, the day unfolds at the rhythm of climbs, bends, and jaw-dropping views — a full immersion into the wild landscapes of the Puy-de-Dôme.

🏆 Back to base, adrenaline still pumping

No prior experience is needed at all. Takamaka's professional instructor will take you through everything before you head out. Guidance is tailored to all levels, from complete beginners to those who've ridden before.

What's the difference between the Mono and Duo options?

The Mono option (from €228) puts you alone in control of your own quad for the full day. The Duo option (from €295) allows two people to share one quad — perfect for experiencing the adventure together. Both options cover the same duration and locations.

Where does the quad ride take place in the Puy-de-Dôme?

The location depends on the season. In summer, rides take place at Montaleix. In winter, the activity moves to the Super Besse ski resort. Both sites, set in the heart of the Massif du Sancy, were chosen for the quality of their tracks and the stunning volcanic scenery all around.
