Description
Picture the few steps that separate earth from sky, the wind inflating the wing behind you, and suddenly the ground drifting away beneath your feet with no sensation of falling, just a silent glide above the volcanoes of Auvergne. Tandem paragliding from the summit of the puy de Dôme is the aerial incentive near Clermont-Ferrand that delivers one of the region's most striking views, the UNESCO World Heritage Chaîne des Puys, seen from the air with a qualified instructor right beside you.
Take-off happens from the very summit of the puy de Dôme, the most famous volcano in France, just 10 minutes from Clermont-Ferrand. Once airborne, you settle comfortably into your harness, a bit like sitting in a swing with a backrest, and let the air currents carry you above the puys. The more adventurous can even take the controls for a moment and steer the wing under the instructor's supervision. Landing is gentle and upright, on the dedicated landing area, drifting over the welcome chalet as you come in.
Accessible to everyone with no specific fitness level required and no vertigo issues to worry about, paragliding welcomes up to 20 participants for a session lasting 1h30 to 2 hours in total. A genuinely unique shared experience, high above the Auvergne volcanoes, that stays in the memory long after the seminar is over.
