A ride with Nordic dogs in the heart of Auvergne
Cani-kart is an outdoor activity in which Nordic dogs pull a kart specially adapted for off-snow excursions. You take your seat on board and discover the scenery at the pace set by the team. With Takamaka Clermont, you’ll enjoy the characteristic landscapes of the Auvergne, taking in volcanic terrain, natural areas and mountain trails.
The experience begins with meeting the pack. You’ll get to know the dogs and chat with your musher about their passion for dog sledding. This first stage helps you better understand the dogs’ roles and how the activity works.
After a briefing on the equipment and safety instructions, you’ll take your seat in the sled for the ride. The package offered on the Chaîne des Puys includes a 1½-hour activity. Allow extra time for the welcome, the briefing and getting to know the dogs.

Takamaka organises outings in the Puy-de-Dôme area, at a place called Le Redondet in Cisternes-la-Forêt.
At what age can you start dog-karting?
You must be at least 3 years old to take part. We recommend that you check the eligibility criteria for your chosen package before booking, so that you can plan your family day out as smoothly as possible.
Can you go cani-karting in summer without snow?
Yes, the wheeled sled allows you to go out even when there’s no snow. However, outings depend on the weather and the dogs’ well-being. The temperature limit for setting off is 20 °C.
How many people can fit in a dog kart?
The number of participants depends on the kart’s configuration and the total weight of the passengers; up to five people can be accommodated, with a limit of 220 kg per kart, depending on the group’s composition. Please contact us to confirm the capacity suitable for your booking.
How much does a cani-kart ride cost?
Prices are €95 for an adult ticket and €80 for a child’s ticket. There must be at least two people on the carriage to book your slot.
