How long does a dog sled ride last?
The activity itself is scheduled to last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, but you should plan to spend half a day at the site. This duration includes an introduction to the pack, a tour of the kennel, instructions from the musher, and the sled ride.
What happens if there isn’t enough snow?
If conditions do not allow for dog sledding, Takamaka offers a "cani-kart" (dog-pulled cart) experience, in accordance with the terms of your booking. This alternative involves a wheeled cart pulled by the dogs. The decision is based on operating conditions and the well-being of the animals.
How many people can fit in a sled?
The stated capacity is two adults or three children, subject to the permitted weight limit. The maximum limit indicated on the specification sheets ranges between 180 and 220 kg.
Do you need to be athletic to go dog sledding?
You do not need to be an experienced athlete, but you must be able to sit down and get back up on your own, and have a reasonable level of mobility. The activity takes place in the mountains, where conditions can be wintry. Please inform the professional of any relevant difficulties or medical contraindications before the outing.
