Discover Cani-Hiking in Auvergne, a Different Kind of Walk

Dog trekking in Auvergne is an outdoor activity that combines hiking with bonding with a Nordic dog. Attached to your waist by an elastic lead and a specially designed harness, your four-legged companion walks alongside you on the trails and helps with the effort, particularly on the uphill sections. It’s a unique way to explore the volcanic landscapes whilst sharing a special moment with the dogs.

An experience with Nordic dogs

The outing begins with an introduction to the dogs and your first encounter with the pack. You’ll then explore the kennels and chat with Rémi and the mushers, who’ll share their passion for dog sledding. These explanations will help you better understand the dogs’ behaviour, their role during the hike and the guidelines to follow to ensure the experience runs smoothly.

An accessible activity to enjoy with family or friends

You don’t need to be particularly fit to enjoy a dog-sled trek. The activity is open to children aged 5 and over, subject to the terms and conditions, and is ideal for anyone looking to experience trekking in a different way. Outings are organised for groups of 2 to 20 people. It’s a great idea for a family day out, a get-together with friends or a team-building activity for a small group.
