Description

Tools in hand, ideas flowing and a slope waiting at the bottom: welcome to Défi Mario Givré, the winter team building experience in Auvergne that combines making, competing and laughing in one glorious burst. In teams of six, your colleagues have a set amount of time to design and build their very own personalised soap box. No rushing allowed, just plenty of listening and creative thinking: the best machines aren't always the ones you'd expect.

Once the tools are down, the Mario Boutique opens for business. Klaxons, paint, steering wheels and other accessories are up for grabs... but they have to be earned. A series of outrageous challenges awaits: group acrobatics, team choreography, joke competitions and more. The more your team commits, the more your soap box gains in personality and race-day advantages. But watch out for thieves: accessories have a way of going missing when you least expect it.

After ninety minutes of building and challenges, the race begins. The final score takes into account the ingenuity of the build, the creativity of the decoration and the finishing position on the frozen track. Team spirit, humour and coordination come together for a team building session in Clermont-Ferrand that is genuinely like no other, set against the winter landscapes of Auvergne.

How the activity works

1

Material discovery and build phase

Teams of six discover the available materials and have 45 minutes to design and assemble their soap box. Listening to each other and dividing up roles are the keys to a solid and original build. Each team has full creative freedom to produce a vehicle that reflects their personality.
2

Mario Boutique opens and customisation challenges

FAQ

Do participants need any DIY skills to build their soap box?

Not at all. The materials are designed to be accessible to everyone and the Takamaka facilitators are on hand to guide teams if needed. The goal is to showcase creativity and team spirit, not technical ability.

Are Mario Boutique accessories guaranteed for every team?

Accessories are earned by winning the facilitator-set challenges. Each team can collect them based on their performance, but nothing is guaranteed in advance. And since thieves are lurking, it pays to keep an eye on your hard-won prizes.

Does the race take place on a real snowy slope?

The activity is designed for outdoor winter conditions. The exact site and track conditions are confirmed at booking. For questions about snow coverage or alternatives in unfavourable weather, contact Takamaka Clermont directly.

Can Défi Mario Givré be combined with other activities or a corporate evening?

Yes. Takamaka Clermont offers a full catalogue of winter team building activities and corporate evening events that can be paired with Défi Mario Givré to build a complete day or seminar programme.

Can the Mario Boutique challenges be customised, or can we include our company colours?

Absolutely. The Takamaka Clermont team can adapt the challenges and incorporate your brand colours or company themes into the soap box decoration. Just mention it when you get in touch for a fully tailored programme.
