Description

Imagine the sensation of a sled dog harnessed to your waist launching up the slope beside you, the scent of forest and volcanic earth in the air, the high-altitude silence broken only by the dogs' breathing and the crunch of stones underfoot. Cani Rando is the nature incentive in Auvergne that turns an ordinary hike into something altogether different. Your colleagues explore an exceptional landscape, the Sancy massif or the Chaîne des Puys, with a four-legged companion who is more than happy to take on the steepest climbs.

The activity runs over a half-day and opens with a visit to the kennel and an introduction to the Nordic breed dogs. Your guides, Rémy or Julia, share their knowledge of training and handling techniques so that everyone quickly builds a bond with their dog before setting off. The hike itself lasts around one hour, dog harnessed to the waist, through Auvergne landscapes unlike anything else. The return is celebrated with a well-earned snack.

Accessible to everyone regardless of fitness level, Cani Rando appeals equally to nature lovers and city dwellers in search of a genuine change of scenery. For groups looking for an original incentive near Clermont-Ferrand, rooted in the Auvergne territory and far from standard corporate formats, this is an experience that stays with people long after the day is done.

How the activity works

1

Kennel welcome and dog introductions

On arrival at the site, Rémy or Julia welcome the group at the kennel and introduce the Nordic breed dogs. This first stage is a moment of discovery and wonder: participants learn the basics of handling, the key commands and the techniques for building a bond with their dog before setting off.
2

Technical briefing and equipment

Each participant is fitted with a waist harness to which their dog will be attached throughout the hike. The guides explain the movements and postures that allow you to be pulled up the slopes without losing control. Safety and the dogs' welfare are central to the briefing.
3

The hike with the dogs

The group heads off for around one hour of hiking through Auvergne's volcanic landscapes, in the Sancy massif near Picherande or the Chaîne des Puys depending on the chosen site. With the dog harnessed to the waist, your colleagues discover a new way of moving through terrain, carried along by the energy and enthusiasm of their four-legged companions on the steeper sections.
4

Return and snack

Back at the starting point, the group gathers over a snack to share impressions and stories from the walk. A naturally convivial moment to round off a nature incentive half-day in Auvergne that no one will forget quickly.
