Good to know

⏱️ The cani-kart ride itself lasts 1h30, but plan for a half-day to make the most of the full experience: meeting the pack of Nordic dogs (Husky and Malamute), a first hands-on contact with the dogs, a tour of the kennel, a conversation with Rémi your musher about his passion for dog sledding, and a friendly snack on your return. 🐾 The wheeled kart takes a maximum of 2 people, with a combined weight limit of 220 kg per team. Groups can include up to 5 people (2 adults and 3 children). Bookings require a minimum of 2 people. The minimum age is 3 years old and participants should be in reasonable physical condition. 🌡️ Outings are scheduled according to outside temperatures: to protect the wellbeing and safety of the dogs, no rides take place above 20°C. Start times are therefore weather-dependent — the Takamaka team will confirm the details when you book. 🎒 All activity equipment is provided and supervised by the musher. On your end, bring mountain-appropriate clothing suited to the weather, along with trainers or hiking boots and comfortable, flexible trousers. Transport to the activity site (Chaîne des Puys or Sancy, depending on the date) is not included in the price.

How the activity works

1

🐾 Meeting the pack

From the moment you arrive, Rémi your musher welcomes you and pulls you straight into his world. A tour of the kennel, introductions to the Husky and Malamute dogs, your first hands-on contact with the pack: you'll discover these extraordinary animals up close, start to understand them, and feel the electric energy of dogs that were born to run.
2

🎯 Briefing and boarding the kart

Before setting off, Rémi walks you through how the team works, the safety guidelines, and your role on board the wheeled kart. You settle in — and the moment the dogs sense it's time to go, their infectious excitement takes over.
3

🌋 1h30 of trail riding through the Auvergne landscape

You're off! Pulled by 12 Nordic dogs, your kart glides along the trails of the Chaîne des Puys or the Massif du Sancy. The raw power of the team, the rhythm of paws on the ground, the volcanic scenery rolling past — every moment is a sensation in itself. A cani-kart experience in Auvergne unlike anything you've done before.
4

🍫 Back to base, snack time, and a last cuddle with the pack

Back at the kennel, the half-day wraps up with a friendly shared snack alongside Rémi — and probably a few extra cuddles with the dogs. A chance to chat, ask all your questions about the world of dog sledding, and head home with memories that'll last.
